Keyword stuffing can render your SEO strategy worthless
Author: admin
Toeing the fine line between writing keyword-rich copy and accidentally practising what the major search engines perceive to be keyword stuffing isn’t always easy. It’s extremely important that SEO services get the balance right – otherwise they could find their website being penalized.
So, how do you avoid engaging in keyword stuffing on your website? SEO practitioners who follow ‘white-hat’ techniques should always:

• Write website copy as naturally as possible.
You obviously want to include keywords in your content, but don’t overdo it. Read your text after you have written it and determine whether it flows or just sounds forced. If there are too many keyword mentions, revise your copy. Similarly, page titles and meta tags should always be descriptive and of benefit to the reader – not just a list of keywords.
• Write for the website’s readers.
Always write website copy with your visitors’ interest in mind. Concentrate on delivering helpful, interesting and relevant information – rather than just throwing in random keywords solely for search engines. While, in the future, some SEO techniques may be made obsolete by search engines updating their algorithms, quality content will always be beneficial to your website.
• Avoid the use of entirely irrelevant keywords.
Never use keywords which have little, or nothing whatsoever, to do with what the page is about. Content and keywords should always be relevant and work in accord with each other.
• Steer clear of cloaking.
Cloaking is the practice of disguising keywords from the visitor. Text can be made invisible by colouring it the same as the background, placing it outside the viewable area or using a tiny font size. Using hidden text means the website can present keyword-stuffed data to search engines while delivering completely different or entirely irrelevant content to the visitor.
